Legends of the Nentir Vale
Sildar Hallwinter is a kindhearted human male who is now in his fifties. His white hair and weathered face make him appear older than his fifty years. Despite his age, he is still hale and hearty, with sinewy strength and steel in his eyes. A quiet man, he often goes hours without speaking. Slow to anger, once roused he acts with the surety of a lifelong warrior. His age and experience have given him the patience and skill necessary to deal with younger, hot-blooded warriors.
Sildar still holds a place of honor in the famous griffon cavalry of the great Barony of Therund. He spent his youth as a hot-blooded young knight, but mellowed with age and started teaching instead of fighting. Now in his fifties, he took a leave of absence from the Griffon Cavalry. He now works as an agent of the Lord’s Alliance, a group of allied political powers concerned with mutual security and prosperity. Members of the order ensure the safety of cities and other settlements by proactively eliminating threats by any means, while bringing honor and glory to their leaders and homelands.
Sildar met Gundren Rockseeker in Fallcrest and agreed to accompany him back to Phandalin. Sildar wants to investigate the fate of Iarno Albrek, a human wizard and fellow member of the Lord’s Alliance who disappeared shortly after arriving in Phandalin. He hopes to learn what happened to Iarno, assist Gundren in reopening the old mine, and help restore Phandalin to a civilized center of wealth and prosperity.
Sildar and Gundren Rockseeker haven’t been seen since leaving for Phandalin weeks ago.
